Biography
Nikodemis was born 23 September 1967 in Johannesburg, Studied Fine Arts at Wits Tech. Received a Higher Diploma in Education in languages, literature, art, drama and film and religious studies from Wits University, and an Honours in Creative Writing and Teaching Languages and Literature from UJ.
He has worked as an arts journalist, copywriter, published poetry and a children’s book, and as a teacher in pre-, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions including public, private, urban and rural as well as prisons, Nikodemis has been involved in community projects using waste materials as income-generating and building source and has worked on arts and cultural projects for various international festivals and projects. Nikodemis has been exhibiting his art throughout the country over the years and has work in private collections all over the world. His art is best described as free-style, ranging from painting to sculpture to landscape art. Besides farming and teaching/learning, he also writes, plays the trumpet, and loves to dance and sing.
