“Cloaked Figures” captures a particular feminine beauty even with abstracted use of colour and line and with little to be seen of the figures themselves. Common to many North African or Middle Eastern markets, a woman shrugging or rearranging her cloak, burka or a sari being swept by the wind makes this an endearing and relatable painting.
