Abstract With Blue

Both these pieces are made up of vertical strips. Each strip has been obsessively drawn or painted on using a variety of marks.  The works reflect an intensity and obsessiveness.  At first glance the strips seem to have been carelessly placed but when one steps back from the works a strong overall pattern is evident in both of the works.  The process of viewing these works involves stepping back to see the bigger picture and then being drawn in to take note of all the intricate details of each vertical strip. There is an endless amount of texture and pattern that the viewer can become lost in, hinting at layers of stories built into these works.
