Simon Venter uses the traditional approaches and medium of oil painting to create artworks reflecting both contemporary and historic approaches to art. Individual and collective lifestyles inspire and their stories are told by means of a traditional, formal approach while experimental elements are handled in a more abstract manner.
Venter’s series entitled “Fragmentation” deals with alienation and identity as he reinterprets this through the crisis of the pandemic as a metaphor to bring home the inherent tendency of alienation in humans.
