“Vivid Identity” A Portraiture Exhibition

Artyli Gallery is excited to present their latest group exhibition “Vivid Identity”, which opens in conjunction with Anton Smits new exhibition “Colossal” on the 13th of August at 2pm at the Artyli Gallery in Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton.
“Vivid Identity” is an exhibition of contemporary figurative portraiture, which embraces this African movement through the unique expressions of ten different artists. This vibrant and exquisite collection showcases diverse approaches to the representation of portraiture through different mediums which incorporates printmaking, collage, painting, drawing and sculpture.
The abundance of portraiture available in contemporary African art speaks to a deeper societal shift– the rising renaissance of an African identity.
