Eyes are the Window to the Soul, 2023
Khaya Sineyile’s subject matter references observations about religious contradictions, witchcraft and faction-fighting. Sineyile has shifted from his former thematic concerns, to instead probe at the effects of social inequality in marginalised township communities that stand in relation to power dynamics and the working class. Sineyile’s colour palette is bright and his works often appear surreal as merges multiple figures to create hybrid forms.
